Annie appears in the clothes she was wearing when she died which change subtly depending on her state of mind. It was believed that Annie simply 'fell awkwardly' down the stairs but it is revealed that Annie was pushed by her fiancé, Owen, after he found a thong in her possession and lost his temper, killing her. Annie's ability to be seen and heard by normal people depends on her state of mind, although supernatural creatures such as werewolves, vampires and other ghosts can always see her. Annie also seems to be able to teleport short distances. When Annie discovers her cause of death, she becomes a poltergeist, which allows her to move objects without touching them and turn machines on. At first, it seems that she can't control these newly found abilities, which only activate in times of extreme emotional distress (along with her teleportation). However, when Herrick is due to fight with Mitchell, it appears Annie can control her powers of telekinesis, when she throws vampires to the ground in the funeral directors. In episode five, after resolving the issue that was keeping her here on earth, the door to death appears for Annie; but before she goes through it, Mitchell is stabbed, and she decides to stay to help him. Because of this, she missed her chance to leave and has to stay on earth in her state. She can now hear dead people, teleport further distances, and has greater power with regards to her telekinesis. Personality: Her death has actually strengthened her character, she goes from a weeping little girl, desperately in love with the man who was cheating on her and eventually killed her, in an unreasonable, violent rage. She gains her strength through her loyalty to the ‘boys’, as best shown when she turns down death to stay with them, and has this loyalty returned by them as they help her with her poltergeist tendencies and support her through her confusion and grief at being dead. A curious person who wants to know as much as she can about everything she comes across. In death she is having to learn to cope more alone in her death, as in life she went from relying very heavily on family and friends to relying on Owen, who brought her to Bristol and cut her off from friends and family and seems to have prevented her making more when in Bristol, in the classic example of an abusive partner. Apparently very loveable, as evidenced by Gilbert, quite excitable, and fairly practical. They should try being stuck in; awake for twenty four hours a day. People could see her most of the time now so she supposed she could get a job, but she wasn’t sure how to explain why she’d been out of the jobs market for so long…Or why she had a gravestone and could move things with her mind. Annie decided to go out, she hadn’t heard any other ghosts in a while and she felt safe enough to go out on the street without collapsing in pain and terror, and no one on the road seemed to have noticed she hadn’t changed her clothes in months.
